469. Jyorou-gumo, November

The latest shot of the Jorou-gumo, which was up in this column in August.
As in the photo, it grew up considerably larger. The ones just at the right upper and lower positions are the males. Their sizes differ this much. They are in a horrible world, where a male's careless approach to the female could result in being eaten, as the female mistakenly judge the male to be a prey.
The right photo is from the same shot, but the close-up of the captured preys.

During pruning works of ume tree, I found a tonosama-batta on a branch. Thinking it cannot be here, I anyhow took the shots.
As I was on a stepladder, I could not check it well. Upon retrieving the images into PC, I noticed it is not the tonosama.
Checking online indicats that it is the one called tuti-inago, which is said, different from other grasshoppers, to winter as an adult form.
467. Murder suzume-bati?
The photo is a part of the news summary at the top of today's Japan News. AP's report of the first discovery of suzume-bati's nest in the United States. As the size is said about a basketball, it is surely that for suzume-bati.

They seem to have come from Japan or somewhere in Asia. The first sighting of the hornets in the United States is said late last year. In any event, the word "murder hornet" is overstated.
466. 2021-model debut
Sijyuu-kara's birdhouse for the next spring. Different from the past years, it is set at the place as in the photo for easy observation from indoors.
Its roof was replaced with new ones, and the slits between the roof and side panels for draft purpose were slightly increased.

465. Tukuba-san ropeway
Visited Tukuba-san again.
Tutuji-ga-oka station of the ropeway. Because of this location, it is equipped with the robust-looking lightning rods.
The L shaped structure to suspend the gondora is equipped with ladders.
Those who perform the maintenace works need the skills, and grit as well. The world that has nothing to do with the so-called remote-works.

A suzume-bati's dead body found this morning under the persimmon tree at my place, which I put into a tiny bottle as a specimen.

Rain in the morning, but fine in the evening.
On visiting a nearby flood reservoir by timing the moon rise, it just cmae out.

The left is FT-897 usually sits in my car. As it haapened to be brought back home, I just put it beside the offering.

Cool weather brought me to the roof for checking antennas. This year too, this creature was already there.
Looks like, at this time of year, he has a business at the high place.
